So excited we have made it to the 2nd trimester, today we are 14 weeks along, I have seen the baby via ultrasound at least 5 times so far and the last time the baby was very active and moving it's hands all over...can't wait to find out what we are having, seems like December will take forever to get here.

In February we got pregnant 5 months after having the Mirena removed, and at almost 7 weeks I started spotting, I went to the doctors, had an ultrasound done and we seen the baby and a heartbeat, 2 days after that I had heavy cramping and massive blood clots and we lost the baby. Low and behold less than 2 weeks later we were pregnant again, I have had 3 ultrasounds already I will be 10 weeks along this Sunday and everything looks good. Obviously in life miscarriages happen more often than not, so I don't know if I can blame the Mirena for it or if it was just the fact that I haven't been pregnant in a while, my daughter is 11 so my body might not have been ready just yet. We are very excited about bringing a baby into our already grown family and the kids are super excited too!! Will keep posting with baby updates and news at it comes along. Our due date is Dec 23 a perfect present from Santa to our family
So many things going on, however, being in pain 24/7 and being miserable all the time isn't one of them !!! I no longer have the piercing pain on my right side, and my hair has grown now about 4 inches too. I don't for one second have any regrets about taking the Mirena out at all, I honestly think it was all for the better. My cycle took just 2 months to go back to being regular and I feel so much better since removal. Will give another update within the next few weeks by my 6 month removal date :)
I haven't had any back pain in so long I actually forgot the last time I had to take a pain pill for it !! My hair is now longer and definitely thicker than it has been in the past 10 years. I see an improvement in my attitude and seem to have a little more patience than usual. My nails are growing too !!!! I think if I had the knowledge sooner I would have had it removed a long time ago. Energy level seems higher too since removal. Hopefully some more positive news to report in the month
Just went to the Dr today due to Bronchitis and when being weighed in I was shocked to see that I have lost 15 pounds since having my Mirena removed!! Yet another good reason that gets added to the list :) Imagine the weight I have gained over the last 10 years of having a Mirena that could have been avoided!! and the possibility of the weight I could have lost already if I had the Mirena removed sooner. The one thing that will not go away is the stabbing pain on the right side of my hip. Other than that I am feeling pretty good.
So it;s been one month since I had the MIRENA removed. All I know is the sleep I get at night since removal is PHENOMENAL!!! I feel more rested when I wake up in the morning. I have started to take prenatal vitamins to get my hair to grow and it has grown a little over a half of an inch which I am very pleased about. I do however have this lingering pain in my right side/hip area that is constant and very aggravating!! My mood hasn't improved at all I still feel miserable all the time and moody more than happy. I feel like I have a little more energy to do things during the day. I actually get out of the house on the weekends to just go out to stores to walk around. YES people still irritate me while in the stores but I try not to let it bother me as it did before. Hopefully in the days, weeks and months to come I feel a little better every day. :)
I am on my 3rd Mirena IUD in the last 10 years, the purpose of using Mirena was of course for Birth Control, this last year however I decided to look into all the aches and pains I have had over the years and found many women with the Mirena IUD have had a lot of the same problems I was experiencing. I have had EVERY blood test known to man to see if I had an under active thyroid, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus,MS etc the list goes on and on. Come to find out the Mirena is the basis of a lot of women getting silicone poisoning. Yup that's right not just implants can cause silicone poisoning. When I give my list of symptoms to my doctors they look at my like I am crazy, they say someone 35 years old shouldn't be in this much pain. You shouldn't have the aches and pains you say you are having, the moodiness, not being able to tolerate people, having a horrible memory lately, etc. Trying to get any one of my doctors to give me a silicone toxicity blood test is like trying to pull teeth. One says they have never heard of the poisoning, the other says we don't have the lot number for the IUD that was removed , what does having a lot number have anything to do with getting a blood test?? Anyway I am determined to find a doctor who will actually not think I am " nuts" and seriously look into this toxicity. There are a lot of bloggers here online having so many of the same problems that I am having and there is little knowledge for us to get proper treatment. My IUD has been out for almost a week now and I got one of the best nights sleep ever Saturday night, which is amazing for me, I usually get up due to muscle spasms in my back,or restless legs but I was able to sleep solid until 7am !!!
